I'm so happy to say that this month marks the one-year anniversary of my blog and the relaunch of Scitable! Officially, I didn't publish my first post until July 18, but it has been one-year since I received my blogging position. It has been a truly great year writing for Scitable. Looking back, I have improved a great deal as a writer and have learned tons of fascinating new things about viruses. I want to thank everyone for their support and readership over the year. It means so much to me to know that others are reading my posts! I am also looking forward to another fantastic year blogging for Scitable on viruses.
In other news, it's finally summertime and I can't wait to read Spillover by David Quammen. Spillover discusses the emergence of Animal-Borne diseases and their transition into the human population. Many well known diseases originated in animal hosts like AIDS, SARS, Ebola, and MERS. I have heard many good things about the book but haven't had time to read it yet. What are you all looking forward to this summer?
