An Interview with Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Carol Greider

In my last blog post (Three's Company: A Trio of Americans Wins the Nobel Prize), I wrote about the winners of this year's Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine, Elizabeth Blackburn, Carol Greider, and Jack Szostak, for their work on telomeres and telomerase. Just this week, Claudia Dreifus of The New York Times caught up with Dr. Greider to discuss her recent achievement. Turns out that Dr. Greider is actually really approachable and seems like anyone's good friend — except that she just won the most prestigious honor in Science. I thought this interview was really cool.

Go here (A Conversation With Carol W. Greider) to learn more about the down-to-earth doctor and how she chose (or was chosen for) a career in biology.
