Long time no post…. II

It has been a long time since I last put up a post on this blog. I don't really have any reason for this long gap, other than I been away on holiday for couple weeks and have also been pretty busy with teaching (mainly marking!). However, I have not been idle and I've been working on a number of blog posts. So, what have we got to look forward to?

Well, I've been working on my eTextbook (I've not got as much done as I would have liked. One thing I've learned is that you may think you really understand something, but is only when you try to put it down in words on the page that you truly discover how little you know.), writing a number of blog posts, and thinking about e-learning in general. (With particular emphasis on marking as I seem to have been doing an awful lot of that recently!).

So, over the next few weeks there will be a number of blog posts on the joys and delights of writing an eTextbooks (one bit of good news is that after a lot of hassle I have finally got my account set up with Apple), my use of wikis in teaching, how e-mail and mobile learning may be actually making student less smart, some thoughts on iPhone applications for students, and a piece on reflective practice in e-learning. In most cases, these posts are finished and it's just a question of actually getting them on to the blogging platform (please see earlier post "An open letter to Nature Scitable - please add markdown!" regarding some of my frustrations on using this blogging platform).

In addition, I've also been working with Khalil A. Cassimally on a piece comparing and contrasting a number of cloud-based tools that may be useful for students and educators.

Anyway, sorry for the lack of posts but watch this space.....
