The clinical and prognostic implications of CIN in patients undergoing PCI have been well documented.1 CIN prevention, however, remains a critical issue because effective therapy for this renal complication is still lacking. Although several risk factors have been recognized and many patients at increased risk are identified, risk profiles can differ substantially between patients according to the number of risk factors and their relevance.2
