Train toilet recycles water
Bacteria to battle waste on the rails.
If you don't wince at the prospect of sitting on a toilet that boasts a macerator, a bioreactor and an ultraviolet sterilizer, before washing your hands in recycled waste water, while travelling at high speed - then read on.
Engineers from QinetiQ, the commercial arm of the UK's defence research agency, have come up with the Intratech Processing System (IWPS) - a cheaper, cleaner, and more environmentally friendly train toilet.
