Terminating transcription in yeast: whether to be a 'nerd' or a 'rat'

Abstract
Terminating transcription by RNA polymerase II (Pol II) in the compressed genome of Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a crucial process for the survival of this organism and probably all eukaryotes. Failure to terminate may result in downregulation of adjacent genes through transcriptional interference.
