Abstract
The budding yeast Dam1 complex, comprised of ten subunits, localizes to centromeres and is centrally important for chromosome–spindle microtubule interactions. Inhibition of this complex leads to extensive chromosome mis-segregation and cell lethality because replicated chromosomes cannot properly connect to opposite poles of the mitotic spindle.
