Surgery: Laparoscopic prostatectomy: learning curve and cancer control

Abstract
Guillonneau et al. introduced the modern technique of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 1998. With the potential to shorten hospital stays, reduce the severity of postoperative pain and hasten convalescence, both patients and surgeons welcomed this minimally invasive technique for the treatment of prostate cancer.
