Epilepsy: Does continuous EEG monitoring improve seizure control?
Abstract
Monitoring the brains of patients in hospital wards and intensive care units (ICUs) has become easier with improvements in technology. The increased use of continuous monitoring has resulted in the observation of epileptiform—or at least possibly epileptiform—activity in approximately one-third of EEGs recorded in patients in ICUs.
