Neurodegenerative disease: Spreading the tau
Abstract
Filamentous inclusions composed of phosphorylated tau are present in several neurodegenerative diseases. In the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease, these inclusions seem to 'spread' from one region to another in a characteristic pattern as the disease progresses.
