Abstract
Bird flu vaccine gets EU approval The European Commission has approved the use of Prepandrix, a GlaxoSmithKline pre-pandemic vaccine that is designed for use in the early stages of an H5N1 influenza pandemic, in all 27 European Union (EU) member states. Some non-EU governments, such as the United States and Switzerland, have already approved the use of Prepandrix and have begun stockpiling the vaccine.
