Article body
Lipids are important mediators in cancer and inflammation, and in cardiovascular, neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases. A complex proteinlipid signalling network that comprises phosphoinositides, sphingolipids, steroids and other lipid-derived mediators has been uncovered in recent years.
This Poster provides an overview of the proteinlipid signalling network and how this network can be exploited to attenuate proliferative, inflammatory and metabolic diseases, and accompanies a review article by Matthias P. Wymann and Roger Schneiter in the February 2008 issue, which contains a Focus on Lipids.
