Apoptosis: Watching caspase 2 get active
Abstract
In the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway, cellular stress induces mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization (MOMP). This results in the release of proteins from the mitochondrial intermembrane space that activate caspase cysteine proteases.
