Thymocyte development: Making a commitment
Abstract
Common precursors in the thymus can develop into either conventional αβ T cells or intestinal γ|[delta]| T cells. The developmental stage at which lineage commitment occurs and the role of T-cell receptor (TCR) signalling in this process have been controversial issues.
