PPI-induced acute interstitial nephritis

Clin Gastroenterol Hepatol 4: 597–604 PPIs are widely prescribed for acid suppression and are generally well tolerated; however, several case reports and a case series have indicated that PPIs have a causal role in the development of acute interstitial nephritis (AIN), which can progress to acute renal failure.
