Bendamustine

In March 2008, bendamustine hydrochloride (Treanda; Cephalon), a DNA alkylating anticancer agent, was approved by the US FDA for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), which results from the production of long-lived abnormal lymphocytes, is the most common type of leukaemia in North America and Europe.
