BACK TO ARTICLEKevin M Zbuk
Kevin M Zbuk received his medical degree from the University of Alberta, Canada. He is a Cancer Genomic Medicine Fellow and Crile Fellow at the Genomic Medicine Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. His research focus is the molecular classification of hamartomatous and hyperplastic polyposis syndromes and genetic and phenotypic characterization of the PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndromes.
Attila Patocs
Attila Patocs completed his medical training and PhD at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. He is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Genomic Medicine Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. His research focuses on genetic and genomic characterization of endocrine tumors.
Amy Shealy
Amy Shealy obtained her MS in genetic counseling from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and is a Genetic Counselor at the Center for Personalized Genetic Healthcare in the Genomic Medicine Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. She was the research co-coordinator for the Genomic Medicine Institute's research study on the molecular classification of pheochromoctyomas and paragangliomas.
Heather Sylvester
Heather Sylvester is a Genetic Counselor at the Maine Medical Center and Maine Center for Cancer Medicine and Blood Disorders in Scarborough, Maine.
Susan Miesfeldt
Susan Miesfeldt is a Medical Oncologist and Medical Director of the Cancer Risk and Prevention Clinic at the Maine Medical Center and Maine Center for Cancer Medicine and Blood Disorders in Scarborough, Maine.
Charis Eng
Charis Eng trained at the University of Chicago and Harvard Medical School, and completed a Clinical Cancer Genetics fellowship at the University of Cambridge. She is the Chair and founding Director of the Genomic Medicine Institute and the Director of the Center for Personalized Genetic Healthcare at the Cleveland Clinic, and Professor and Vice Chairman at the Department of Genetics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She holds an honorary appointment at the Cancer Research UK Human Cancer Genetics Group, University of Cambridge and is a recipient of the Doris Duke Distinguished Clinical Scientist award. Her translational research seeks to fully characterize all aspects of PTEN phenomics, explore novel mechanisms of PTEN function and dysfunction and incorporate these findings into the practice of personalized genetic healthcare. Additional research interests include the molecular classification of GI hamartomatous polyposis syndromes, the role of SDH mutations in pheochromoctyoma and genomic alterations in the stroma of solid tumors as they affect the clinical outcome.
