This defect was first diagnosed by bilateral power motion-mode transcranial Doppler and subsequently closed with a CardioSEAL® device (NMT Medical, Boston, MA). Note the embolic tracks, shown in white, sloping across the red and blue bands of the displays and the presence of some of these microembolic signals in the spectrograms.
