Articles are published under a CC BY license (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License). The CC BY license is preferred by many research funding bodies, and allows for maximum dissemination and re-use of open access materials. Alternative Creative Commons licenses are available on request: please contact the editorial office on acceptance of your article to discuss these options.

Ease of submission
Manuscripts submitted to npj Precision Oncology do not need to adhere to our formatting requirements at the point of initial submission; formatting requirements only apply at the time of acceptance.

Articles published in npj Precision Oncology will be included in monthly article e-alerts and regular email updates. A featured article is highlighted on the journal homepage each month, and may be selected to appear on the portal for partner publishing.

Articles published in npj Precision Oncology may be promoted by press release to the general or scientific press, utilizing Nature Research’s extensive international media database.

Abstracting and indexing
As with any new journal, full indexing takes some time. npj Precision Oncology will apply for inclusion within PubMed Central once it has met the minimum criteria required (25 published peer-reviewed manuscripts). Pending review and acceptance, all past published articles will automatically be indexed retrospectively. Authors with NIH/HHMI funding are able and encouraged to self-archive, which includes uploading manuscripts to PubMed Central before the journal is officially accepted. The journal will also apply for inclusion within Thomson Reuters Web of Science. We will update the journal web site to keep authors and readers up to date with the services the journal is indexed within.
