Eyes on super-resolution

What is super-resolution imaging? Super-resolution in microscopy occurs when it becomes possible to exceed the standard diffraction limit. This is given by the Abbe diffraction criterion of |[lambda]|/(2NA), where |[lambda]| is the wavelength of light and NA is the numerical aperture of the lens.
