Light-emitting diodes: Bright and stable

Light-emitting diodes based on colloidal solutions of semiconductor nanocrystals known as quantum dots (QDs) are of great interest for display and lighting applications. This is largely attributable to the broad colour tunability and the ease with which QDs can be chemically processed.
