Editorial Team
CHIEF EDITOR: Oliver Graydon - based in Tokyo
Oliver joins Nature Photonics with 10 years' experience in the world of scientific publishing. He was previously employed at the Institute of Physics Publishing Ltd. where he held several posts, including editor of the monthly magazine Opto & Laser Europe and its associated website Optics.org. Oliver has a first class degree in physics from Imperial College London and a Ph.D. in optical communications from the University of Southampton's Optoelectronics Research Centre.
ASSOCIATE EDITOR: Amber Jenkins - based in San Francisco
Amber moves to Nature Photonics from Nature, where she has worked as a manuscript editor for the past year. Within Nature’s physics team she specialised in photonics and applied physics research. As part of her Ph.D. in particle physics at Imperial College London, she spent three years conducting research at the world’s highest energy particle accelerator at Fermilab, near Chicago. Prior to this she gained a first class Master’s degree in natural sciences from Cambridge University.
ASSOCIATE EDITOR: David Gevaux - based in London
David joins Nature Photonics from Toshiba Research Europe in Cambridge. He previously obtained a first class degree in physics from the University of Manchester and a Ph.D. from Imperial College London on the topic of mid-infrared LEDs. His research interests at Toshiba included quantum dots, in particular their application as single photon sources, and photonic crystals. As part of his role at Toshiba, David also worked at the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge.
ASSOCIATE EDITOR: Rachel Pei Chin Won - based in Tokyo
Rachel joins the team from Aston University's Business Partnership Unit, where she worked as a Medici Fellow commercialising photonics research. She obtained her Ph.D. in optical fibre sensing, microwave photonics and fibre nonlinearities as a member of Aston's Photonics Research Group. Prior to that, Rachel worked for Philips Optical Storage in Singapore as an Optics Engineer. She holds a Master's degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and a Bachelor's degree from the National University of Malaysia.
