Catalysis: Individual nanoparticles in action

Nanoscale materials are used to catalyse chemical reactions in a wide range of applications including fuel conversion, chemical production, pollution abatement and the synthesis of carbon nanotubes. Catalysts are also amongst the most challenging materials to understand.
