Antagonists of the v3 and v5 integrins inhibit angiogenesis in cancer, arthritis and ischemic retinopathy. However, a surprising new report suggests that knockout mice lacking 3 and/or 5 integrins show enhanced, rather than reduced angiogenesis. (pages 27−34)
