Abstract
Bone marrow-derived angioblasts may be used to promote cardiac revascularization in the days following a myocardial infarction (pages 430–436).
The flurry of events immediately following a heart attack has devastating consequences. Within minutes, oxygen starvation of tissues fed by the blocked coronary artery causes cell death in the heart muscle.
