Moving out: mobilizing activated T cells from lymphoid tissues

The generation of adaptive immune responses to foreign pathogens requires that effector T cells be in the right place at the right time. Mature T cells exit the thymus to begin their life's mission of circulating through the bloodstream, secondary lymphoid tissues and lymphatic vessels and back to the bloodstream to start the process all over again.
