Abstract
A successful immune reaction to pathogen is as much about a restrained response as it is about effective detection. This is because the very cytokines required for normal host defense and inflammation become a danger to the host they serve if allowed to increase unchecked, giving rise to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
