A new player in lymphocyte homing

On their search for antigen, naive lymphocytes continuously exit the bloodstream to lymph nodes: every second, 15,000 lymphocytes enter a single lymph node in sheep. This requires efficient and rapid mechanisms for capturing lymphocytes and stimulating motility in specialized blood vessels.
