Abstract
Mutant mice with phenotypes of human autoimmune diseases have been very instructive in immunology. For example, the itchy mouse has spontaneous skin inflammation and has stimulated much research aiming to understand and potentially soothe the itch that irritates not only these mice but also human patients with diseases such as psoriasis.
