Manipulating hematopoietic stem cell amplification with Wnt

Connie J Eaves, PhD

Connie Eaves is in the Terry Fox Laboratory, British Columbia Cancer Agency and University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. ceaves@bccancer.bc.ca

The mechanisms that regulate self-renewal of hematopoietic stem cells have remained elusive. Recent papers in Nature point to an important role of the Wnt−beta-catenin signaling pathway in promoting this process.
