Palaeoclimate: Patagonian dust machine
Abstract
The dust record preserved in Antarctic ice cores is puzzling. The record shows abrupt shifts in dust flux, as if there was an on/off switch, rather than varying smoothly according to some clear relationship with other climate proxies.
