Planetary science: Ancient equatorial ice on Mars?
Abstract
The most intensely studied region of Mars is probably Meridiani Planum, near the martian equator. During the past decade it has been scrutinized by the orbiters Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Odyssey, Mars Express and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, as well as the Opportunity rover.
