Palaeomagnetism: Core message
Abstract
Reconstructing the Earth's very ancient magnetic field is no easy task. But understanding the evolution of the geomagnetic field can provide invaluable information about the way the geodynamo that generates it within the Earth's liquid core may have evolved as the Earth slowly cooled and grew a solid inner core.
