Conflicting evidence on the frequency of ESR1 amplification in breast cancer
Abstract
Solid tumors may acquire gains and losses of copies of genomic regions encompassing oncogenes and tumor suppressors. Amplification, defined as a relatively high increase in copy number of a restricted region, may also occur.
