Abstract
Khor et al. reply: Nejentsev et al. contend that they were unable to replicate the association between the S180L functional variant in MAL (also known as TIRAP) and protection from tuberculosis, which we had observed previously as part of a study of multiple infectious diseases. In our opinion, these new data provide some preliminary evidence indicating that, for tuberculosis, the association may differ in Russians.
