Nephrogenetics on World Kidney Day
Abstract
Genetics provides both tools and challenges for the effort to understand how a set of molecular mechanisms play out at the organ and organismal levels. Implementing existing medical knowledge is an even bigger challenge, but both resource-rich and developing countries can make cost-effective health gains by promoting public awareness of kidney function.
