I wouldn't divorce my wife for any director post or scientific cause, as I think there must be some other way of doing it, though I do empthasize with Dr. Csete for her sacrifices. Many scientists devoted so much time at work and away from home that they've practically chosen to follow the same path. Anyway, whether there's still a conflict of interest depends on the rules and their interpretation. For example, if a couple delays their wedding (or even engagement) to avoid the conflict of interest, would that be considered more acceptable from the administrative point-of-view? Let the bureaucracy draw the line and worry about such things.
