US science adviser pick rumoured near

Harvard climate scientist John Holdren is the leading candidate.

John Holdren, a climate expert at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, seems to have been chosen as Barack Obama's science adviser.

Holdren has been one of several leading names circulating in Washington DC to take over as head of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, a position currently held by John Marburger.
