Earthquake warning for Sumatra
Ancient corals reveal cycles of seismic activity.
Another huge earthquake may hit the Sumatra region within the next few decades, geologists have warned. An analysis of fossilized coral beds in the region has revealed that the magnitude 8.

Policy makers should go through this as it involves not only prediction of earthquakes but also about saving civilians
Indonesian government has to make long term strategic planning in how to mitigate and predict future geological disaster in western coast of Sumatra. The biggest problem is in the implementation, which is required vast knowledges and personal motivation to conduct and take necessary measure on the planning steps. One of the suggested implementation is concerning the government policy to open interdisciplinary-research opportunity including the financial matters.
