A picture of climate change in the Himalayas
Photos from historic Everest expedition reveal extent of subsequent glacier retreat.
Fifty years ago, when Austrian climber and cartographer Erwin Schneider was exploring and mapping the Himalayas, he would have had little idea how his photographs would help to study the effect of climate change on this stunning region.
Schneider's photo of the Khumbu Valley in Nepal, taken on an expedition that lasted from 1956 to 1961, shows Taboche peak (over 6,500 metres) in the centre, with the path to Everest base camp running up the valley to the right.

It is good to have such exhibitions in europe or america for research purpose but I think such exhibitions should be held in asia region so that people get aware of the climatic condition of their place.
