One-sided gene action boosts cancer risk
Colorectal study points to genetic susceptibility.
People with reduced activity of a gene involved in cell signalling are at substantially greater chance of developing colorectal cancer. But the study reporting the finding also highlights the difficulties with pinning down genetic risk factors for complex disease.
