Drugs turn 'couch potato' mice into long-distance runners
Scientists concerned about use of the drugs in athletics.
Just in time for the Olympics, scientists say they have discovered drugs that could cause the next athletic doping scandal.
In a study published today in the journal Cell1, scientists say they have found the first targeted drugs that boost endurance.

"in trials to cut levels of high-density lipoprotein, or âbadâ cholesterol" - I'm sure that she meant to write 'low-density lipoprotein', which was the target. Interestingly, again, one sees that the surrogate markers for many disease processes can be portals to unexpected, and often unwanted, results.
