Fake drugs: lessons for the world
Dora Akunyili is director-general of Nigeria's National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). Since her appointment in 2001, she has led a successful crusade against counterfeit pharmaceuticals, which are responsible for millions of deaths worldwide each year. Nature caught up with her last week in Washington DC.

I read Fake drugs: lessons for the world an interview 0f Dora Akunyili (DG of Nigeria's National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC)). This is realy a challange for world specially developing nations. India is also facing such situation and some time back, a tv news channel had disclosed a large amount of fake drugs being sold by retailer (usig big brand name). It was very difficult to identify between real and fake.After that government of India started investigation of the case. Afetr reading this interview it give us great pleasure that DG NAFDAC, successfully done her job. I feel that developing countries should take suggestion from her experience.
