This is a great proposal. Effectively, there would be two streams of medical graduates, one stream prepared for general practice and the other well-prepared for research and development. One proviso would be that the students enrolling in this program will receive considerable financial support, so that it is within reach of all deserving students, not just the super- rich.
This headline is confusing. Will Scripps require that admitted students already have a master's degree, or will it require that students obtain a master's degree during med school? After reading the article, I think it's the latter, but the headline implies the former.
