Bioterror: The green menace

Huanglongbing, a disease that could devastate the US citrus industry, pits national security against plant pathologists looking to battle natural outbreaks, Ewen Callaway reports.

In California's San Joaquin valley, it is citrus season. An open-air warehouse on the outskirts of Dennis Johnston's 600-hectare citrus grove brims with huge crates of oranges, mandarins and grapefruits.
