Government was warned of physics crisis
Documents show threat to research from budget levels was known.
Documents obtained under the freedom of information act by researchers campaigning for more cash show that the UK government was warned about the consequences of its funding levels for physics, which resulted in a shock announcement of massive cuts to research in December last year (see To read this story in full you will need to login or make a payment (see right).
