Budget blow to US science

Physics takes a hit despite earlier promises.

It was an imperative that was supposed to transcend party politics. The America COMPETES Act, put forth by congressional Republicans and Democrats and signed into law by President Bush in August, was meant to signal support for boosting basic science in the name of remaining competitive internationally.

  • America is declining in all fields of life. China,Pakistan,Korea and India have more brilliant scientist and heavy budget in science and technology now. Its a pitty that USA is paying more attention on destruction of world and itself as compared to science and technology.

  • And bureaucrats make statements claiming confusion as to why the math and science scores in the U.S. lag other countries, and why U.S. kids aren't going into math/science/engineering careers. Is it clear now?

  • Wow, that's terrible. The American government really needs to get its priorities straight. I am once again relieved to be Canadian.
