Does it rain less on the weekend?

Surveys show no weekly pattern in rainfall — until recently.

Which day of the week is the wettest? Scientists have argued about that for decades. Two studies1,2 now suggest that there hasn't been a weekly cycle in rainfall at all during that debate.

  • I don't believe the existence of weekly cycle. Though there were the pollution or particles influencing the condition climatic, it is a long-term process and it can't appear in a so short term--a week. It may be the much more complicated than this.

  • Hi, I live in the north municipality Zandvoort on sea (north sea) Holland. The is mild even in winter. Living there for just over three years I’ve notice Friday and Saturday are the days most frequented with rain also mostly in the night and early mornings . The rain shower are intense. Coming from Switzerland things are different probable because of the alps there midweek is seems to rain more. Regards Dr. Terence Hale

  • I believe that honest scientific pursuit and honest spiritual pursuit are bound to converge, because they seek ultimate truth. Any objection that they are intrinsicly seperate reveals mediocre perspective in my humble opinion. These statements preface another theory as to why it might rain less on the weekend. I suspect it would because collectively WE WILL it to not rain on the weekend, as rain at that time would interfere with outdoor activities for the majority of the willers.
