How depressing. this goes hands in hands with <a href=http://ealerts.nature.com/cgi-bin24/DM/y/hhrI0VzzB60HjB0BiB30Ei> the other news</a> to show the state of research in Italy. Nepotism and incompetence seems to rule supreme.
As a retired researcher of ISS I wonder why while many of us were involved in the evaluation of international projects, our institute does not adopt similar criteria for evaluating its own projects
