Plastic particles surf polluted waves

The seas are awash with long-lived microscopic debris.

Earth's oceans are teeming with minute scraps of plastic, say researchers who have surveyed the tiny particles in sea water. As the plastic does not break down, the pollution will be with us for centuries to come.
